Heavy Equipment Operation Level 2

By achieving a certificate of completion at GSC you will be prepared to sit for the following examinations.

National Association of Heavy Equipment Training Schools (NAHETS)
  • Operator Certification Assessment Test (OPCAT)

 

The Heavy Equipment Level II is designed to build upon Level I Training by introducing additional equipment and training; thereby allowing the student more employment opportunities. Level II will teach an individual heavy equipment operation and related subject matter within the courses as outlined below. The main equipment types used in Level II are bulldozer, scraper, loader - part II and backhoe part II; additionally, students will learn heavy equipment rigging, grade reading, laser levels, safety procedures, and heavy equipment maintenance. Graduates will receive National Certification from the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER); certificates, transcripts and wallet cards are sent directly to the student, along with registration in NCCER's National Registry.
Purpose
  • Operation of advanced* heavy equipment (see equipment list below).
  • Prerequisite for advancing to Level III.
  • Provide entry level job opportunities (see employment opportunities)
Prerequisites:
  • NCCER Level I
  • Complete Application
  • Be accepted for enrollment

Excavation companies, road contractors, grading contractors, highway contractors, residential housing development contractors, commercial/retail contractors, utility contractors, underground contractors, plumbing contractors, electrical contractors, sand and gravel pits, landscape companies, light duty construction companies, light duty mining operations, pool contractors, light duty excavation companies.
